Location

In far north of Free State province.

A largish, attractive venue set on a part of the Vaal River that has divided into a network of streams and rivulets flowing around lushly green, well treed islands to beckon the rambler, the bird-watcher and the contemplative fisherman.

The willows are especially prolific and beautiful; the civic gardens luxuriant. The town was named after the French capital, by an early land surveyor (a German who had fought in the Franco-Prussian war of 1870), who likened the area to the graceful Parisian reaches of the River Seine.

A prime Highveld Resort Centre - Parys offers a wide range of visitor and vacation amenities.
